MAKK Movie Makers - make your own digital stop-motion film!

For children ages 10 and up.

In the museum we go on a journey through the history of design: we encounter futuristic and practical, bright and harmonious, geometric or crazy living ideas as well as "fossils" from media history: gramophones and jukeboxes, record players and typewriters, telephones with rotary dials and televisions with screens the size of smartphones. We will then show you the basics of stop motion technology.

A brilliant idea and an exciting or funny plot are required here in order to finally implement everything in your own film.

Designers wanted! Jewelry design from recycled materials

For children aged 8 and over.

Fashion design, car design, jewelry design, media design - we are surrounded by design, but what exactly does the term mean? We get to know some design objects from the MAKK, get to the bottom of the idea generation and inventiveness and research the respective material.

Then we get creative ourselves: you can find out in the museum how much fun it is to make jewelry from coffee capsules, bicycle tubes or PET bottles. And if you don't wear jewelry: how about colorful refrigerator magnets or keychains, for example?

Completely detached! Spaceships in space age design

For children aged 6 and over.

We are travelling back to the beginning of the space age. The first manned space flight and the first step on the moon have really fired up people's imaginations. There were many films and series on TV and in the cinema that further fuelled these visions of the future. Of course, people also wanted to furnish their homes in a completely new way and many pieces of furniture and equipment looked as if they were actually made for astronauts, spaceships or space shuttles.

We are being inspired by this journey back to the future in the truest sense of the word and are creating our own spaceships from recycled materials.
